What is C-DAC

Centre for Development of Advance Computing (C- DAC) is a scientific society of Ministry of Information Technology, Govt. of India. Our initiative started in January 1996 under the brand name of Program for Advancing Computer Education (PACE). This program offers each and every person an opportunity to make the most of computing technology without having much technical background. This has been one of the first deployments, which has met with extraordinary success across all sections of India.

C-DAC GIST has been the pioneer in developing and proliferating the use of Indian languages on computers.This technology offers solutions to a wide range of requirements in the areas such as publishing and priming, word processing, office application suites etc Also provides language interfaces for popular third party software on various operating platforms, electronic mail, machine translation, language learning, video and television and multimedia content in Indian languages.Today we have a national presence with around 260 training centers throughout the country.C-DAC has a network of 80 ATCs in Gujarat state. Most of our centers are in rural environments has been instrumental in providing Multilingual IT training to students in such regions.We design client specific modules that help the clients to upgrade the skills of their employees in the desired areas.Read More at www.cdac.in

C-DAC GIST PACE

C-DAC GIST – Programme for Advancing Computer Education (PACE) was developed to impart training in basic and high end multilingual computing with the objective of proliferating the use of Indian languages on the computer. Since January 1996, PACE has been serving as the vehicle to extend the benefits of the products and solutions developed in the R&D labs of GIST to the grass root levels of society. It aims to meet the growing demand of IT skilled human resources in the field of Multi-lingual computing. In this pursuit, GIST has set up Authorized Training Centres in every district/village/municipality of the country, under the brand name of (PACE- Program for Advancing Computer Education) through which it is currently offering over 30 different quality courses in diverse areas of IT through 250 plus authorized training centers countrywide and in-turn providing 30,000 trained manpower every year.Presently, C-DAC offers its various training programmes through its own training centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai,Gujarat, Noida, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram, and its network of Authorised Training Centres (ATC) spread across the country.The Education and Training activities of C-DAC are governed and steered by Academic Council (AC) and Academic Management Committee (AMC).The PACE programme is closely monitored by C-DAC and its state level agencies, to ensure a high quality of instruction. Emphasis is laid on close interaction with the industry, project work, and feedback mechanism from students and the industry. Amongst the courses offered through the PACE programme, are certificate and diploma courses, designed to address the larger needs of students.
